All My Life I Have Been
Surrounded by Food.
Caribbean. Puerto Rican. Southern. Asian. All from scratch. All from somewhere real.
"We will never have another moment like this. Each moment is to be memorialized and appreciated for what it brings right now."
— Cita

So you know how you always have that one family member at the cookout who stops the DJ, grabs the mic, and gives a long drawn out speech?
Well. Sit back. Relax. And get ready for a journey.
Because today — I am that cousin, friend.
Where it all started — April 2020
April 2020. I remember getting off the dedicated employee transit bus to start my shift and being approached by my duty manager — who asked me the same question he and dozens of other on duty managers would also ask their employees that day — to take a voluntary leave of absence due to the sudden worldwide outbreak of the COVID-19 virus.
Like many of you reading this I was terrified with the possibility of losing my job and not having a source of income. It was a devastatingly humble ask as the world shut down overnight right before our eyes.
My friend — now my husband — who worked alongside me decided to remain on the job along with a few others while myself and the majority of our coworkers reluctantly took the voluntary leave of absence.
Just like you — sitting at home all day gave me plenty of time to think. And just as you may have found me by scrolling on social media — I discovered Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.
And just like you — I clicked. But what drew me to it? That is the real question you are asking yourself right now.
I could tell you what you think you want to hear — which is that charity is the reason I created Harmony Provisions Kitchen. Because I want people who are just like you and me — but who have hit a rough patch in life — who don't currently have the advantages that we experience every day, whether we see it as privilege or not — to eat well. Just like you and me. Regardless of their situation or circumstance in life.
And that wouldn't be a bunch of fluff. Harmony Provisions Kitchen was created to support those who are constantly overlooked due to their circumstances.
And it was also created because of love. While many of us were scrambling with concern — I made the decision to think of you. With the same service in mind that I provide to those in my home.
Like many of you I had the same concern of what my life would be like if I lost my job. And as I began to think about that — I felt compelled to invest in a future where I could honor those who came before me — while paving a path for those who will follow me in generations to come.
That is why I clicked the link. That is why I signed up. And that is why — no matter how long it took to satisfy this calling — I am here today.
That was the beginning. But a calling without a journey is just a moment.
See what happened between that bus stop and this plate.
2023 — 2025
The craft behind the flavor.
When we first launched in 2023 we were branding ourselves as a fitness meal prep company with rotating menus and weekly deliveries. And it was not a bad idea — considering I am a Junior Olympic gold medalist and a black belt in Taekwondo who miraculously lost 60 pounds in 90 days with minimal exercise and intentional clean eating.
However — my culinary passion had been caged.
We would spend the next two years investing in a business model that had potential — but did not allow me to fully serve you at my most passionate capacity.
Fast forward to 2025 — where we reluctantly took a professional sabbatical to prepare for a comeback that opens doors to greater and more customizable culinary experiences within the Harmony Provisions Kitchen legacy.
What does that look like? I'm glad you asked.
The version of HPK you're seeing now? This is the uncaged one.
See what we envisioned when the doors finally opened back up.
Imagine what's possible
Citrus-brined. Herb-crusted. No shortcuts.
Imagine walking into your office — greeted by the smell of simmering Puerto Rican style Arroz con Pollo sitting beautifully next to cinnamon glazed plantains and creamy garlic spinach — with a pitcher of sweet Georgia peach infused lemonade on a Thursday afternoon.
And feasting on a sweet and savory jerk spiced salad drizzled with in-house homemade hibiscus vinaigrette and avocado lime ranch — filled with crunchy tropical delight with every bite on a late Sunday afternoon after brunch.
Imagine the smile on your face at the cookout when it's hollered out — "who brought the potato salad?" — and it's your name called in response.
Picture the simple bliss of seeing your child walk across the stage to receive their diploma — or walk down the aisle to say their vows — knowing that the food not only represents the celebration of a life transition — but the culture that lives within it.
"Every holiday party. Every birthday celebration. Every cookout, graduation, wedding, anniversary, and baby shower — effortlessly hosted. This is our time. This is your time."
That vision came from somewhere. It always does.
Meet the roots — and the people — that made this kitchen possible.
Saint Kitts. Georgia. The kitchen table.
I am the daughter of two Marines — one from Rochester New York and one from Newnan Georgia — and I myself was born here in Decatur Georgia. But my roots run far deeper than the boundaries of the 50 states alone.
I was born a second generation American — a descendant of the island of Saint Kitts — by way of my maternal grandmother, affectionately known as Cita. Short for Teresita. One of her many given names.
However — on January 20th 2026 — in the face of so much political tension — I had the pleasure of witnessing Cita become a United States citizen. Not only making me officially a third generation American — but making history in our family legacy.
Cita is not just any West Indian American. She is the epitome of womanhood in our family. She did not have the highest paying job or a college education — but she was sophisticated in her own way. She knows how to bring people together with the excitement of good smelling, authentic Kittitian toe curling meals that people rave about for years to come — and the sweetest hospitality to take home with you.
House sofrito. Made fresh. Every batch.
Just like my sixth grade teacher — professionally known as Mrs. Coleman — but I called her Mama. Who knew how to make a small Clayton County classroom full of hungry sixth graders feel like an event space — and filled it with homemade Hawaiian American delights like Spam musubi and juicy Kalua pork with fluffy rice and savory fried lettuce.
It was in her class — filled with love and kindness and tasty cuisines — where I made an oath to retire Mrs. Coleman someday and open a restaurant for her to serve her homemade Hawaiian American meals. Now nearly 20 years later — here I am. Working alongside her to relaunch the best of Harmony Provisions Kitchen. Even serving some of her most sacred recipes on our menu.
"Now nearly 20 years later — here I am. Working alongside her to relaunch the best of Harmony Provisions Kitchen."
Like some of you — I grew up making turkey bacon and eggs in the microwave. It was not until my tenth grade year of high school that I began to fully explore my culture through grown up cooking. You cannot make savory Puerto Rican Pastelillos with fresh ingredients in the microwave. My mother used to joke that she could always tell when I was in a relationship — because I would go crazy making Pastelillos. And now it is not just the first traditional cultural meal I learned to make — it has become a savory treasure that even my mother enjoys. With a side of boss sauce — of course. IYKYK.
Now you know where this kitchen came from. Let's talk about what it means.
The name. The concept. Why every plate is built the way it is.
Why it's called Harmony
This is what it looks like when you love what you do.
With that said friends — all my life I have been surrounded by food.
Food as family.
Food as celebration.
Food as mourning.
Food as comfort.
Food as healing.
Food as fuel.
Food as transformation.
Food as community.
Food as charity.
Food as honor.
Food as love.
From the school teacher celebrating her students — to the daughter handling funeral arrangements — to the businessman winning over a new client — to the manager showing her staff appreciation — from a child's graduation party to celebrating anniversaries — from what's for dinner — to what's on Chef Ray's menu this week?
Every holiday party. Every birthday celebration. Every cookout, graduation, wedding, anniversary, and baby shower — effortlessly hosted by the designated family host or hostess. And every client effortlessly won over a meal.
This is our time.
This is your time.
